Visitors to the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show were treated to a surprise visitor
The second day of theAbu Dhabi International Boat Show, saw the “Titanic” drop anchor in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre marina.
With Celine Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go On’ blaring out of its own sound system, the incredibly detailed mini Titanic soon became the most ‘selfied’ yacht of the show.
“The fact so many people focused more on this small model of the world’s most famous ship is pretty impressive, considering she was berthed alongside superyachts from Gulf Craft, Riva and Sunseeker,” says Steve Chalmers, editor of Pinpoint title Yachts Middle East.
The magazine was at the show to interview the heads of some of the world’s most innovative and interesting yacht companies. The introduction of the tiny yacht at the Boat Show was timely, as Blue Star Line ship builders have announced that they’re building a replica of the ship will set sail on its two-week maiden voyage from Dubai in 2022.
Once its initial voyage is successful (here’s hoping history doesn’t repeat itself), it will run will weekly voyages from the UK to New York.
